You may wonder how someone comes up with the idea of creating fine jewelry inspired by pets.
For us, it began with one very special dog—our spirited senior poodle, Arthur.
Like many pet parents, we never thought much about creating heirlooms or preserving memories while he was with us. But as Arthur grew older and eventually passed away after 19 unforgettable years, we found ourselves longing for something beautiful that could keep his spirit close. We wanted more than a photograph tucked away or a keepsake hidden in a drawer. We wanted something elegant, meaningful, and timeless—something we could wear every day.
That desire became the inspiration for Whisker & Gem.
While Arthur's story inspired our beginning, Whisker & Gem is a celebration of every stage of the journey we share with our pets—not just the memories we hold after they're gone, but the moments we get to live with them every day.

Since then, our collection has grown to include custom engravings of names, paw prints, portraits, handwritten notes, and meaningful details that transform each piece into something deeply personal.
What began as a way to honor Arthur has become a way for others to celebrate the love they share with their own companions. Our Process

Concept & Inspiration
Every Whisker & Gem piece begins with a spark — a pet’s expression, a favorite bone or toy, a meaningful symbol shared between you. Our design team translates those moments into refined sketches, exploring silhouettes, proportions, and details that feel timeless and personal.

Technical Design & Mock-Up
Once the concept is perfected, it becomes a precise technical design. Depending on the piece, we create:
CAD renderings for accuracy and symmetry
Hand-carved wax models for organic, sculptural designs
These mock-ups serve as the blueprint for the piece and allow us to refine every curve before moving into production.

Metal Forming, Casting & Cutting
Using traditional fine-jewelry methods, your piece is brought to life:
Lost-Wax Casting
For sculpted charms and dimensional motifs, molten precious metal is cast into a mold formed from the wax model. This produces a solid, durable foundation with beautifully defined detail.Metal Forming & Laser Cutting
For our Wh and precision-engraved pieces, we work from sheets of solid gold or sterling silver. Each piece is laser-cut to crisp outlines, ensuring perfect symmetry and clean edges. -
Hand-Finishing & Stone Setting
Once cast or cut, artisans hand-finish every surface. Edges are shaped, textures are smoothed, and details are refined.
If your piece includes gemstones, they are:Selected for clarity and color
Hand-set into prong, bezel, or flush settings
Inspected under magnification for security and alignment
This stage transforms raw metal into a true heirloom.

Polishing & Final Finish
Each piece undergoes a multi-step polishing process:
Pre-polish for shape refinement
High polish for mirror shine
Ultrasonic and steam cleaning to remove all residue
The result: a radiant, flawless finish worthy of fine jewelry.

Your pet’s name, a date, or a meaningful symbol is engraved with precision.
We use high-end jewelry engraving techniques, ensuring every character is crisp, deep, and permanent. No two engravings are the same — this is where your story becomes part of the piece. -
Quality Inspection & Signature Packaging
Before leaving our studio, every piece is inspected by hand and under magnification. Only when it meets our highest standards is it placed into our signature Whisker & Gem green box — a keepsake meant to be treasured from the moment it arrives.
